# IP Restrictions

> Set IP address restrictions for your API key

You can set the IP(s) that are allowed to use your API key. No other IP address will be able to use your API key.

**NOTE:** Because we don't disable IPv6 to ensure everyone can use our website, the IP you need to whitelist may be a longer address like `2001:67c:2628:647:10::277`. To get the correct address, [please look here](https://ip.me/) to see your IP.

ONLY whitelist the short IP like `1.1.1.1` if your server/device does **NOT** have a IPv6 address. But if you have a long IPv6 address like `2606:4700:4400::6812:256f` then whitelist that instead..
